Croft 2

The BSSO circus heads to Croft (Teesside , DL22PL) this weekend as a special attraction at the Petrol & Pistons show. There’s likely to be 6,000 petrol heads in attendance so we need to make sure our scooter racers have some fantastic support as well. Let’s show them what a well sorted two-stroke is capable of.

If you’re at a loose end, travelling home from the Lakelands 100, or just fancy a ride out get yourself to Teeside this Sunday, 21st August. It only costs £10 on the gate so it’s a cheap day out for all the family.

Free patch

A special commemorative patch will be given free to the first 200 scooters through the gates…

BSSO scooter racing

There will be 6 scooter races throughout the day, 3 geared and 3 auto so you won’t have as long to wait between races as you would at an ‘ordinary’ scooter race meeting. Croft is a great circuit for racers and spectators with plenty of viewing areas around the 2.125 mile track. See the Team Replay Racing boys battling it out with the Italian Casa Performance team and expect  SRP Racetech to be in the mix.

This meeting will be your first chance to see a privateer out on a new Casa Case race engine. SLUK contributor and novice street class rider, Craig Robinson, is the first non-team rider to get one of the new 40+ bhp engines so let’s see how it goes. His carbon fibre race scooter has just been rebuilt (so has the rider after an IOM crash) with some tasty new parts (you can read his feature about the build on SLUK at 18.30pm this Thursday) so try and get a look around that one before the racing… just in case. Our man Barrie Braithwaite will also be out trying to recoup some points in the Production Class after ejecting himself painfully at Darley earlier in the season.

Be there

Croft is the penultimate 2016 BSSO round and points are precious as the championship gets serious, so expect some heroics, especially in-front of such a big crowd of non bikers/scooter riders. We want to see plenty of scooter riding spectators there as well.

SLUK custom show

There’s also plenty of other stuff to keep you entertained, like the SLUK custom show for instance. You can find our tent opposite the Casa Performance HQ at the bottom of the paddock (you can’t miss them!). We’ll have some fantastic trophies and a few prizes for the winners. The trophies will be presented in the paddock between 4pm & 5pm and winners will have to ride up to the podium to collect them.

Is it too late to enter?

You can enter online or just turn up on the day. We want to see customs, classics, restored, well engineered, autos and anything else that looks good or different and is ridden.

SLUKED Gear

We’ve been asked for SLUK merchandise since we started our online magazine (a few lucky people got free t-shirts at Scooterist Meltdown and Whitby) so we’ve finally bowed to pressure and will have two designs of SLUK supporter shirts on sale at Croft. The shirts are printed on premium quality t-shirts and will be available in black or navy with silver/blue print.

The first shirt (above left) features the large ScooterLab logo and also has ‘SLUKED’ branded on the sleeve. They’ll cost £10 each (special Croft price) and you can get them from the Robbo Speed (Lambretta parts) stand, or from our gazebo. Get them whilst you can.

Our second design (above right) uses the logo again but just as a breast print, it also has ‘SLUKED’ printed on the sleeve and will also cost £10. The shirts are available in ladies & gents sizes but come and see us early if you want one, once they’re gone they’re gone…

And whet the hell is SLUKED about? Well, you’ll find out about that on Sunday…
