Taking part in a championship means competitors are more likely to go to events they’d otherwise possibly skip. With the BSRA Championship in particular, you’ll usually find competitors are going there primarily to enjoy themselves, rather than just signing on and riding home again. Just as a supporting members championship should be, supporting the event itself.

Vicki Swinge has ridden almost 16,000 miles on her Lambretta this year and has won both the BSRA championship and LCGB best female.
Iron butt, Tooly lives about as far north as you can get and deserves a medal for his unwavering commitment. Very worthy winners.
2016 BSRA Championship results
Another year of rallying and partying comes to an end. It was a close run thing with only 20 miles between the best supporting female and the runner-up. Not so in the male category as we had Tooly from Coyotes SC travelling from Aberdeen and winning by a wide margin on mileage. The results are as follows:
- Best supporting male: Richard “Tooly” Cowe
- Runner-up: Mark Swinge
- Best supporting female: Vicki Swinge
- Runner up: Karen Soulsby
- Best Supporting Club: London Lambretta Club
We also had a category for best supporting couple, which went to
- Daz & Jo Turner (Mansfield Monsters SC)
And last but not least…
- Best Supporting Student: Won by Evo
To be honest we didn’t know how to categorise that one but wanted to highlight somehow that mature bearded student, Evo rode to all of the National Rallies on the GTV he bought from Johnnie B. Those of you who know John will appreciate the significance of this.

BSRA 2017 Championship
The National Rally dates are out for 2017 & we’ve already had entrants for the championship, you can enter online on the BSRA website. Further details will be on the BSRA site in the New Year. If you’re thinking of entering have a chat with us at a rally, or with someone who has entered before. It’s all about us showing our appreciation to the people who support the National Rallies year in and year out, all you have to do is ride to the rallies and sign on at the parts fair on the Lexham stall on a Saturday morning.
Any LCGB of VCGB members who would like to sign on next year are more than welcome; you’re attending the rallies anyway.
