Don’t rush me man, I’m just getting started…
If you’ve ever built something from scratch then you’ll understand that we aren’t going to get everything spot-on at the start. SLUK is highly-tuned, so it will need a bit of fettling to get it performing at 100%.
This is not a soul-less off-the-shelf credit-card project. SLUK has been built by a gang of scooterboys and their friends from the ground up.
With determination, liberal application of gaffer tape and support from within our scene SLUK has arrived at its first event. A few bolts may need tightening, but hopefully nothing has dropped off and we’re happy to have made it this far.
A year down the line, once we’ve got the outside gleaming and everything is wired up just how it should be, then it will be unstoppable (mainly because we forgot to fit the brakes). If you have an eye for hidden potential and an ear for a responsive engine note then you’ll know that there’s something impressive under the roughly-painted side-panels. Our motor still needs running in though so please be patient.
Whatever ScooterLab is at the moment – and we hope you like what you see – it is only the beginning. We’ve got tons of trick parts, hidden in boxes, still left to fit.
Together we’ve set out on a project that has taken many hours of labour and a few skinned knuckles along the way. We’ve bump-started the motor and now have thousands of scooterists riding along with us. I’m not exactly sure where we are going but we are going to take over the town when we get there. It’ll be a laugh.
You are all welcome to come along and ride with us so feel free to offer help with directions. My Little Chef map got wet and it’s all stuck together now…
