Friday sees many of us heading off to Cleethorpes and what a scorcher its set to be. Not only thanks to the glorious heatwave but also because emotions will be running high as England play the quarter finals on Saturday at 3 pm.
England at The Beachcomber
If you want to watch the football away from the boisterous crowds in town you can watch it at The Beachcomber. The campsite has a brand new ‘Buckets’ pub for this year, complete with 7 widescreen TVs and another one in the beer garden.
They also have a large screen and 4 wide screens set up in The Show Bar (venue for the evening do). If you watch it in there you can also benefit from Carling at just £2 a pint. That drinks offer will be on all weekend whilst the do is on as well. It should provide a great warm up afternoon, ready for the Saturday night do (unless they lose). If they lose just drown yourself in cheap Carling.
The Sluicemobile disco scooter and cake stand
ScooterNova cheese and wine scooterist Soirée
If you aren’t bothered about the football you can chill out on the campsite away from it all. The bar will be open, Dyno going at full chat, traders busy selling their wares and the Scooternova cheese and wine soirée will be in full swing up at the top end of the campsite, to the right of the rear gate (alongside Lexham/LCGB/VCB/Crusader and SLUK).
If you missed it last year be sure to pay them a visit this time (preferably impress them by taking your own favourite cheese and wine). Accompanying background music will come courtesy of The Sluicemobile, Lambretta powered sound system. Scarborough Col will be slicing up and dishing out some fine delicacies, Slacker will be pin-striping scooters (whilst intoxicated, probably), custom scooters from past issues of the mag will be making an appearance (possibly getting accidentally striped) and of course you can get yourself a copy of ScooterNova issue 8, back issues, or merchandise. What could possibly go wrong?
SLUK Stall
Alongside ScooterNova you’ll be able to find Nigel and the lovely Julie manning our SLUK stall. They’ll have a good selection of our plastic goodies (including the new T5 Driver screens) and will also be selling some of our fine SLUK T-shirts so make sure you pop up and see them. Of course we’ll be floating around as well.
