We’ve been following the progress of Dave’s Scooter Shack’s (Top Trumps) new billet Lambretta outboard disc brake for almost two years. It’s a collaboration between Dave Hampson and a well known UK based fabricator. Designed and manufactured in England, the disc is designed to be universal, it can be used on either disc or drum fork links and comes with anti-dive, the anti-dive linkage is adjustable and runs on bearings.
We shot the little video above at Weston-Super-Mare last year so that’s only the pre production version but the brake has been finished now and is on sale.
SIP caliper
Designed to be easy to buy parts for in the future, the brake uses a SIP caliper, (black as standard, other colours are available) so is easy to replace, the disc is also derived from the Vespa PX so spares won’t be a problem. The brake comes without master cylinder and hose.
Just 10 of these will be made with this style of hub so not everybody and his dog will have the same brake. They cost £650, come ready assembled to bolt in and are available now from Dave’s Scooter Shack Facebook page by clicking this link. Let him know we sent you.
