Sadly this morning we bring you the news of Chuck ‘Chuckles’ Swonnell’s death. In the world of scooter legends there are none greater and more widely liked than Chuck. He’s ridden there, got the t-shirt and ridden home again.
You’ll have seen Chuck riding both Lambrettas and Vespas to events at home and abroad, right up until last year when he suffered a serious stroke. He remained in hospital until he passed away last night at around 9 pm. Chuck would have celebrated his 86th Birthday tomorrow and friends from around the UK and beyond were sending masses of cards to help cheer him up.

Dearest Chuckles, your passing will leave a big hole dear friend, so many fond memories of you, and it only seems like 5 minutes ago I was djing for your 70th on the Isle of Man! <3 …and as ever, you telling me to turn the music down tee hee. I first met Chuck around 20 years ago and he would always stop for a chat ever since. Such a legend, this is very sad news. RIP Chuck x
