I’m currently a year into a project to create a new book in the widely appreciated Complete Spanners Manual series, this time aimed at the Lambretta kit market.
I didn’t want to announce it yet but events have forced my hand. This isn’t a book that will be ready before the latter half of this year but I’ve elected to put a stake in the sand nonetheless.
Everyone wants a little more power, right?
Currently, there are so many kits on the market that anyone looking to tune a classic Lambretta is liable to be confused about what suits their needs best. There literally is a kit to suit every type of Lambretta rider. Everything from mild to wild is catered for; not to mention the booming replacement engine market. Where do you start?
The Complete Spanners Lambretta Kit Book aims to simplify this choice by giving people HONEST, INDEPENDENT, MEASURED information so people can make a kit choice to suit their needs, budget and riding style.
Square one
It’s not a tuning book. This is about finding the right starting point, not about where you might want to end up if you get busy with the Dremel. For the vast majority, choosing the right components will deliver all the performance they need. However, if you want to continue tuning or set-up then the book will provide pointers and direct you to specialists who can help with that. I’m not going to go into any more details about what the book will contain because there’s still much work to be done and I need to get back to the dyno.

Without The lambretta spanners manual I’d never have entered the lambretta world. It’s covered in oily fingerprints but much treasured! Looking forward to this kit edition. Well done!
