Last weekend those lads and lasses from the UK Lambretta Choppers Club handed over a huge (literally) cheque to a flabbergasted Vince Wooloff at his Bodysnatchers rally.
Vince is the man behind the Oddballs scooter rally (and Bodysnatchers) and he’s worked hard over the years to build his events up, raising thousands of pounds for his chosen charity in the process. Earlier this year the long-awaited Lambretta Chopper book arrived, a limited edition, well put together hardback that sold out within a month. All the proceeds from the book were collected and handed over to Vince last weekend, along with a special copy of the book presented in its own wooden box. The organiser didn’t have a clue as to how much the book might have raised but was left emotional and speechless when a cheque for £10,198 was passed to him on stage!
The Lambretta Chopper Book Two – The Builders Edition
Not ones to sit about twiddling their thumbs in-between angle grinding lumps off of rare Italian scaffolding tubes, the lads are already putting together a second book. This one will take a look at the builders of these mobile works of art. No doubt they’ll print some additional copies as well this time so even more cash can be raised!
£1500 bill for damages!
During the celebrations, after a successful weekend at Bodysnatchers, Vince was unlucky enough to damage the hired marquee. His Facebook post (below) after he got the bill wasn’t done for pity or in the hope that people would help out but fellow scooterists have set up a Crowdfunder page to help raise the £1500 needed.
After just one day the total is already getting close to £800 but if you want to help this kindhearted fundraiser out feel free to donate a few quid, it will all add up.
