If you’re sat at home waiting for the latest Vespa news from EICMA, I’m afraid you’re going to be disappointed.
Vespas only significant update is this special edition RED Elettrica. The scooter is the latest collaboration between Vespa and RED. The charity was founded in 2006 to help fight AIDS (then big news) but has recently started fighting COVID and the effect it has on communities.
With every sale of a RED Vespa Elettrica the charity will receive a donation… and another Vespa fans heart will be broken!
Piaggio 1 Feng Chen Wang
We recently road tested (and were impressed by) the new electric Piaggio 1 (read about it here).
Revealed at EICMA in a collaboration between Piaggio and “experimental and innovative stylist” Feng Chen Wang comes this special edition version of the model.
The Piaggio 1 isn’t a bad blank canvas to begin with, it’s pretty smart to look at. The designer, who was born in the Fujan province of China, soon made it his own. Using traditional Chinese brushstroke techniques he’s painted a vibrant watercolour which combines the natural elements of water and the symbol of the Phoenix – said to represent virtue and grace in Chinese mythology. He’s chosen the colour green as a reference to China’s native flora and the colour has also been used on the seat cover and wheel rims. There’s also a special helmet and a collection of snazzy streetwear to go with it!
Piaggio MP3 fans will no doubt be excited to try the new 400 out, it’s looking quite pretty in its ‘Grigio Materia’ paintwork in Milan. The 400 produces 34.8bhp and will bridge the gap between the existing 300 and the 500 quite nicely.
