Yamaha has taken the unusual step of revealing their new Neo’s electric scooter ahead of it’s launch. The 50cc equivalent looks pretty cute and will cost £3,005 when it arrives in showrooms in May.
The Neo’s comes with a 50.4v/19.2Ah removable lithium-ion battery that weighs just 8kg and is located below the seat. According to Yamaha, it gives a range of 37km on a full charge. A second optional battery can also be fitted to double the range and with two riding modes to choose from (STD and ECO) the rider can choose to reduce battery consumption if they prefer. Recharging can be done in-situ or off the scooter.
Yamaha have taken extra care over the scooter’s throttle response to give the rider precise control from a standstill (something a lot of electric scooters don’t have).
The Neo’s also comes connected with the MyRide app for full connectivity, it also has keyless ignition, an LCD dash, twin halo front running lights, 27-litres of underseat space, a detachable rear wheel rim for easier tyre changes and the quality you expect from a Yamaha.
The Neo’s electric will be available from your local Yamaha dealer from May.
