In just five weeks’ time, many of us will be looking forward to loading our scooters up for the first Easter scooter rally since 2019. Thankfully Boris cured Covid a couple of weeks back (a genuine miracle) so surely not even Jesus can cancel Easter this year?
As you can see from the flyer above (click on it to take you to the VFM’s shiny new website to get tickets) there’s a full weekend of entertainment planned at the Whitby Pavillion. Friday and Saturday night will have live bands, plus DJs in two rooms. Then there’s the indoor parts fair and custom show on Saturday. If you’re staying for the full weekend you can have a ride out on Sunday with Whitby Scooter Club and get back to town for a soul all-dayer.
Accomodation
We’ve seen that people have been struggling to get affordable accommodation for the weekend so we suggest trying Air B&B, or even the old-fashioned way of ringing around a few B&Bs. Not all accommodation is on Booking.con.
Camping?
VFM have secured a new campsite at Broadings Farm, it’s an ‘old school’ style site rather than glamping experience! Hopefully, with Easter being a bit later this year it’ll be a bit warmer than usual.
Trade and custom show bookings
VFM are happy to take bookings for both trade and custom entrants, you can email vfmshows@yahoo.co.uk or call the numbers on the flyer. Let’s make this first National event of 2022 into a massive rally.
Share, comment and win
VFM have kindly given us a pair of weekend entertainment tickets to give away to a lucky scooterist (prize does not include camping).
To enter all we want you to do is to share this post on your own social media.
Use the hashtag #SLUKWhitby when you share so we get to see it.
Also, we want you to comment on this post giving us your own reason why you’re so happy to be having a ‘normal’ Easter, at last, this year.*
We’ll pick a winner at random on Monday 21st March (although funny answers may help the judge make his tough decision).
* SLUK cannot be held responsible if Boris’ cure doesn’t last, or if Putin gets even nastier.

An excellent prize
It’s great to be back in the usual routine of freezing my bollocks off on a campsite, whilst recounting tales of how many times a certain on line scooter magazine magnate ran out of petrol on the way there!
Anyway who am I kidding we should all be toasty by Easter as we’ll have a Ready Brek glow around us if Putin finds his big red button!
Happy Easter back to normal hopefully joining in Easter egg hunts and a day at the beach
