The event was due to take place last summer after a two-year break but Covid put a stop to that, unfortunately. There were some doubts over the Beachcomber venue after it was bought in 2021 by Away Resorts but after a successful meeting with the two scooter clubs last week they were more than accommodating. The campsite’s name has been changed to Pearl and the park has had a massive upgrade to its rental caravans and leisure facilities with a brand new swimming pool just being completed.
The venue will run with two rooms of music as always but the soul room has changed to a great wooden-floored upstairs space with a balcony looking over the main room and a new outside balcony looking over the pool area. There’s also a chill-out space in an annexe to the side.
The campsite
Of course, Cleethorpes is well-known for its fantastic scooter only campsite. Meridian Park is the place to be, it’s £20 for the weekend and your wristband also gets you into the Beachcomber do at night. The campsite itself is self-contained, secure and has toilet and shower blocks, there’s also catering on-site, first aid, 24-hour security and most importantly… a bar.
The custom shower and dealers market is on Saturday and day visitors are allowed from 10-4pm.
Keep an eye on the event’s Facebook page for updates and the latest info.
