A few weeks ago we released pre-order details for the second Lambretta Chopper charity book and orders have been pouring in steadily ever since.

Since then we’ve had the honour of being able to flick through a finished copy of this epic book and it’s sure to become a collector’s item of the future. Scooter memorabilia fans don’t often get the chance to own something so well put together that is printed in such small quantities. There are just 600 copies of this epic hard-backed, full-colour 372-page tome available. Over half of those are already pre-sold. If you want one, get your orders in now.

What makes them Tik?

The book features almost 100 Lambretta choppers and their owners, as well as stories from prolific chop builders like Ferdy of Insane Innovations, Madness of Madspeed, Russ Mitchell of Exile Cycles and many more besides. There’s also a heartfelt 10-page tribute from the family of Tik Tester whose life was taken tragically last year.

You don’t even need to be a chopper fan to enjoy this book, maybe you’re just curious to see why and how this style is created and what makes the builders and owners tick (other than a shower of sparks and screech of an angle grinder of course).

Teenage Cancer Trust

Remember, this book has been put together by the creative minds of Lambretta chopper builders and owners and it’s all for charity. 100% of the proceeds from the book will be going straight to Teenage Cancer Trust. If we can get those remaining copies snapped up before the Oddballs Scooter Rally at the beginning of August the lads will be able to present a cheque for the total during the event. Last year a massive cheque for £10,198 was handed over to an emotional, Vince Wooloff – the man behind Oddballs (pictured above). He won’t need quite such a big cheque to hide behind this year but hopefully the total will still be huge…

Vince has so far helped raise over £60,000 for charity during the past six years and his dedication is so great that this year he decided he would do a charity skydive… nothing unusual in that? The difference is that Vince was tipping the scales at over 19 stone and there’s a 15-stone weight limit to jump. Vince has spent the last few months training hard, getting fit and losing the excess weight. He’s now lost over four stones in weight and is ready to jump. He’s just waiting for the go-ahead from the airfield after his last jump was postponed due to the weather. You can donate via Just Giving here.

Limited edition signed posters up for grabs!

Spanish scooterist and author of the excellent Eibar Lambretta book (as well as creator of the Straitjacket Lambretta trunnions), Jaime de Prat Salomone has also got involved with the fundraising. Talented Jaime has hand-drawn a very special commemorative poster to go with the book. Just 50 limited edition prints of the poster are being raffled (and sold) off, along with some other decent prizes.
