Piaggio have announced an across the board 10% price rise today for all new models from the Piaggio Retail Group.

The rise will come in with immediate effect for any orders being placed with Piaggio UK from today (24th October). The good news is that existing bikes in dealers won’t be affected so you can beat the price rise by ordering a new scooter from a dealers stock before they need to get one in specifically for you. Don’t delay though because you could potentially save hundreds of pounds by beating the rise.
£5299 Vespa GTS
It means the retail price of a new Vespa GTS 300 will break the £5,000 bracket for the first time. A new Euro 4 spec GTS 300 Super will be £5299, or a 70th Anniversary GTS 300 EU3 will be £4943. These price rises will come as a shock if you’ve noticed some of the crazy offers certain dealers have been advertising recently. Some of them have been busily shifting their old stock GTS models for prices of as little as £3699 – around £1000 off the list price.

Thanks Piaggio….after 35 years and 20 Vespas, 5 being new, you have now pushed me out of your market. Next time I will put another 2k on top and buy another Italian beauty a Moto Guzzi V7 or buy British and get Triumph Bonneville. 5k for an overengineered shopping bike that is only 278cc is waaaaaaay too steep. Ciao Piaggio. Grazi mille.
Don’t expect it to be limited to Piaggio, other manufacturers won’t be far behind.
Scomadi anyone? Probably £1k cheaper now?
Go for the Bonneville then, as Moto Guzzi are owned by Piaggio.
All Piaggio group includes Moto Guzzi 🙂
