There’s an unusual event happening this weekend. Aside from it being the National Scooter Rally in beautiful Kelso, it also coincides with Scottish Summertime and the weather forecast is predicted to be hot, hot, hot – 27º on Friday.

Kelso is only just over the Scottish border, so isn’t too far for most of us. It’s predominately a camping rally held on the Union Showground and just a short stroll over the River Tweed into the compact town centre, where a selection of great pubs and the infamous British Legion Club await you (stunning views from the Legion terrace). Kelso is perfect for that last-minute Bank Holiday sunshine getaway but not so good for our fair-skinned northern friends who will be hiding away indoors (mostly in the pubs) for the weekend.
Four passes to be won
Anyway the sun seems to have gone to the organisers heads because they’ve kindly given us four wristbands as prizes, giving the winners free camping and entertainment for the weekend.
Please only enter if you’re planning to go to the rally, don’t waste a prize that somebody else could benefit from.
The prizes
We’ll choose four winners, who will each receive a weekend camping and entertainment pass worth £15 when they arrive at the rally this weekend.
How to enter
Answer the following questions and in no more than 50 words finish the tie breaker.
1: Name another Scottish National Rally town from the past?
2: Tell us how you’ll be getting to Kelso this weekend?
3: Tie breaker: The best thing about riding a scooter is…
Then post your answers as a comment below… simples.

Terms and conditions
Our carefully chosen judges will choose winners on Thursday at 7pm, correct answers and a decent tie breaker may well help. Be sure to check on SLUK and our Facebook page before you get to Kelso because you may be a winner.

Fort William my favourite and McTavishes Kitchen – now long gone. Borrowing a mates P200. Best thing is seeing the sign that usually says “Kelso (or wherever) Welcomes You” – knowing that they do now but the local council never used to – if even if the Publicans did! And the close second is reaching the garage door back home in one piece.
