For those wondering why we’ve not been posting a lot lately, we have a few bits of news…

SLUK Clip - more new scooter products on the way.
SLUK Clip – more new scooter products on the way.

SLUK Shop

The first is that the shop has temporarily been taken off-line due to the installation of new software which will allow other businesses to sell their scooter-related wares on SLUK Shop in a similar way to Amazon Marketplace. This will allow SLUK to expand and finance future developments.

Anyone who has recently purchased items on SLUK shop does not need to worry. All orders are being sent out as normal and should be received in good time. The shop will be back on-line as soon as we’ve fixed all the issues with shipping prices that come with the new system. If there’s anything that is guaranteed to cause a headache it’s postage prices. If you notice any problems when trying to order please let us know, it’s like stirring up a hornet’s nest when you mess with postage.

SLUK magazine

You should expect a reduced output of articles while these updates are being resolved. We’ll restart with new posts next week.

SLUK ownership change

As you probably know, SLUK is run jointly by Iggy & Sticky but Sticky has a few other time-consuming projects up his very long sleeve. As a result he will be leaving us this week so that he can concentrate on them. Therefore, SLUK’s controlling company – Scooter Media Ltd – started by Iggy, Sticky and Tracy Round in 2015 is to cease trading after 2 years. Don’t panic though, the SLUK website is being taken over entirely by Iggy as a new business by mutual agreement.

Iggy isn’t planning any major changes but initially the larger articles might not appear as often as they did. Unless of course you’re a budding writer or scooter enthusiast looking to supply us with features. If you would like to get involved you can email editorial@ScooterLab.UK

We wish Sticky all the best and he will continue to write for SLUK on a freelance basis; however his next big project is…

Edition 3 of the Complete Spanners Manual for Lambretta Scooters

Stocks of the Second Edition of the most highly-regarded Lambretta manual are almost gone and there will be no more by the end of this year.

Instead of a re-print, Sticky will be conducting a thorough overhaul of the contents to add new tips, tricks, tools, parts and reference sections to bring the book bang up to date. Developments for Lambretta seem to have accelerated in the seven years since the last edition. We expect this Third Edition to be available around spring 2018.

If you are a dealer or owner with any tips or suggestions, please get in touch via the contact form at www.lambrettabook.com

All the best and thanks for your continued support, Iggy & Sticky
