During the last few weeks, whilst forced into involuntary hibernation and with little in the way of scooter-related excitement to fill the virtual pages of SLUK, we’ve been busy behind the scenes. We’ve been doing some work on our soon to be released app, as well as adding the new ‘SLUK Room’ forum and a ‘For sale’ page for you to sell your scooters and bits and pieces. We’ve also been busy updating our little online shop.
You’ll no doubt have noticed we’re already stocking the Arai range of helmets but not everybody can afford a premium brand lid (although we can offer 0% finance now on all orders over £99 with PayPal so that will help). Luckily, one of the cool brands we have in our shop, By City has just released a new range of good quality, but affordable retro-inspired helmets. The full face Roadster (pictured above) costs just £160 and you can add a bubble visor for an extra £19.95.

By City Roadster Carbon Fibre: £298
This carbon fibre version of the Roadster weighs in at just 1100 grammes, it shares the same spec as the standard Roadster and can also be fitted with an optional bubble visor but has the benefit of carbon fibre in its construction, which obviously equals extra bragging rights down the pub.

Two Strokes open-faced helmet £120
The By City ‘Two Strokes’ open face lid comes in at £120 and comes with an EC ER 22-05. safety rating. The fibre resin shell comes in 3 sizes for a better fit and the helmet is said to be one of the smallest approved open faced profiles on the market. The Two Strokes also have an optional bubble visor for that authentic retro look.
SLUK says
An open-face lid isn’t for everybody (we try to encourage the use of full-faced helmets at SLUK) but if you’re going to buy and use one, at least spend a bit of cash to get one with a decent safety rating, rather than some cheapo £45 plastic lid off Skegness market.
By City Jackets
Aside from the new helmets, By City also have some tasty jackets and gloves for men and women, the Sahara Venty (above left) is a great looking, well cut, ladies leather jacket, perfect form summer. It costs £225. We also have the men’s version of the Sahara (above right) at £241.

These gloves were literally made for scooter riders, they don’t come much more retro than ‘Retro’. Made from aged perforated leather these gloves also have ‘touch’ function index fingers and thumbs so you can use a device whilst wearing them.

It could be, many products are sold under more than one brand name.
