Casa Performance have just released their new Lambretta X91 fork links. They are off-the-shelf drum-brake links which have been forged with damper stud mountings. They can also be used with the single, or twin CasaDisc brakes with only a minor modification.
Although Lambretta performance has moved on in leaps and bounds the scarcity of decent quality fork links has meant people have been using (sometimes) inferior quality links from the Far East, or using original links that are maybe past their best.
Ordinary 125/150 non-damper links are still plentiful but the options to mount dampers to them are a weedy clip-on bracket, or welded-on boss for a stud. Casa Performance have come to the rescue though with their new drum-type X91 fork links. The Casa links also benefit from having damper stud mounts cast into them.
They’ve been tested by the Casa boys and fitted to their race scooters, so they should be able to withstand the rigours of road life quite easily.
Using anti-dive?
Aside from a shortage of decent quality links, Vittorio Tessera also needed links for use with both his single and twin CasaDisc set up (see image above). The X91’s work with drum brakes and the CasaDisc, although the internal locating pin needs removing to allow the anti-dive to work if you’re using the X91 with the CasaDisc (see image below).
Blueprinted
Casa used the original Innocenti factory blue-print drawings when designing the new links, so not only has attention been given to the measurements but also to the actual materials used, to guarantee maximum safety in this critical component.
Loose balls
For ease of use, the X91 uses the later SX/GP loose ball for the spring push-rod. This means you don’t need a fork compressor tool when building the forks.
