If you subscribed to SLUK notifications then you’ll receive a push notification on either your computer or Android phone (iPhone isn’t supported yet but will be soon) whenever we share a new story/feature/news item. It’s just a quick reminder from us so that you don’t miss anything. I’m sure some of you subscribed and get annoyed by our little reminder (we only usually send about 6-8 per week). Well if you’re one of ‘those’ who are easily annoyed here’s how to ‘unsubscribe’ to stop us bothering you.
How to subscribe/unsubscribe
It’s easiest to subscribe/unsubscribe using a computer. Firstly go on to the SLUK home page
If you look in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen (see image above) you’ll see a ‘bell’ icon. Hover your mouse pointer over it and you can choose to either subscribe or unsubscribe, simple. Another way is to clear your browser history, the next time you visit the site you will be prompted to subscribe if you want to. Simples.
Do you find notifications annoying?
Let us know in the comments below if you prefer to know what’s happening on SLUK and think the notifications are ok as they are. Similarly, if you feel they’re annoying let us know.
P.S if you’re in the second group I must apologise for the notification you received about this post.
New products always in development…
Keep ’em coming.
Asking for a mate… Any idea when the iPhone will be supported? It’s just that I, I mean he, tends to delete my (his!) browser history quite regularly (purely for freeing up hard drive space and performance reasons of course…) so never get the notifications on the laptop.
Or what about being able to sign up for e-mail notifications?
Sounds like your friend has some dodgy browsing habits to me! Notifications for IOS are available, although it costs quite a bit for us to set it up (we have to buy an apple licence and pay them on subscription as well). Maybe tell him to give up Porn Hub and start spending the money he’ll save in the SLUK Shop, then maybe we’ll look into it…
I’ve always wondered if users are happy with subscriptions or not (hence why I did the post) I get a few emails asking to be removed but they’re probably from the kind of people who can’t cope with modern life and the intrusion of a little notification upsets their delicate state of mind. I allow push notifications for apps that I use so it doesn’t bother me but everybody is different.
