Casa Performance have come up with a simple and cheap modification to enable Series 3 BGM shocks to be used to beef up the rear end of your bouncy Vega. Standard Vega suspension may well cope with a standard low-powered machine but once you start sticking a load of the latest smallframe tuning goodies on your scooter you’ll want to improve the handling (and braking). That’s where these new steel bushes come in handy.
CP have produced a pair of steel bushes to reduce the inner diameter of the BGM rear shocks to that of the Vega suspension pins. Not only does this allow a rear BGM sports shock to be fitted but it also raises the rear end of the scooter slightly to avoid the cylinder cowling fouling the frame if you’re fitting a 125/135cc cylinder. The bushes cost just £8 a pair and can be bought here.

Smallframe Lambretta chain guides
Using the knowledge gained from developing and using their best-selling X44 OTT chain guides, Casa Performance have also released a new top chain tensioner suitable for the Lambretta J50, Cento, J125 (3 speed), J125 Starstream (4 speed), Lui, Vega or Cometa models. The actual chain runner block is made from an ultra-hard special glass impregnated plastic material and the metal plates are all laser cut in 4mm thick stainless steel. Internally the plastic runner has four metallic bushes to ensure that the fixing screws do not come loose over time, which can happen through overzealous tightening if these bushes were omitted from the design.
The lads at Rimini have “Tested these guides to the absolute extreme and they have withstood everything thrown at them”. They advise this product to be used without the lower chain guide. The CP code is ‘X805’ and they are priced at £44.10. They can be purchased directly from Rimini Lambretta Centre HERE or from any Casa Performance dealer.
