The latest innovation by the German brand BGM are low cost parts that could make a huge difference: gasket sets. If you are tired of freshly rebuild engines leaking because the paper thin pattern gaskets that you have been using will not seal the gasket faces of your 30-year-old cases then these new items might just do the trick.
These Italian manufactured kits are not only made from high quality 0.5 mm thick fibre composite, they are also lined with silicone sealant on both sides to help seal light scratches. Pre-siliconed gaskets are a good compromise between putting gaskets in dry – or greased, or the messy job of adding your own gasket. Prices are 20.89 Euros for Vespa small frame sets and 22.89 Euros for large frame sets. Available for Lambrettas soon.
This style of pre-siliconed gasket is used as standard on many original equipment gasket sets for Japanese motorcycles, but one gasket often costs the same price for a Honda as BGM are asking for a full set.
