Honda have released a short teaser video this morning with a tag line “The Forza family is getting bigger.” The video (above), doesn’t give much away other than a release date of 14/10/2020 and some carefully shot close-ups. Although, we imagine this will be a new flagship maxi scooter to replace the discontinued Silverwing, or possibly even replace the Integra.
With this year’s world motorcycle shows cancelled by COVID-19, the teaser videos release date is timed to sit bang in the middle of what would have been Intermot in Cologne and EICMA in Milan. Whether we’ll get to ride the new ‘Super’ Forza next month or not will remain to be seen but we’ll keep you posted of any developments.
The Forza family
The Honda Forza already comes in 125cc and 300cc capacities (as tested by us here) so a maxi-sized version would certainly be a good move for the Japanese company. Currently, their only large capacity scooter on sale in the UK (since the demise of the Silverwing) is the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) Integra. The Integra shares the same running gear as the NC family of bikes and their 745cc engine, with the option to have manual or automatic gearshifts. It works more like an automatic car than a scooter’s Continuously Variable Transmission – CVT).
The Integra is quite a beefy machine with a high raised central tunnel and large 17″ wheels, which takes away some of the practicality of riding a scooter and makes it feel more like a crossover between bike and scooter (as does the X-ADV. It is a fantastic machine to ride though and if Honda can give it more of a scooter-like personality in Forza guise it’ll be a bonus.
Dual Clutch Transmission?
The teaser shows a raised tunnel and clutch side casing (see still image above) that looks very similar to the existing Integra engine so it’s highly likely Honda’s versatile 745cc DCT engine has been utilised in this larger capacity Forza. The 54bhp engine is currently used in the NC 750X, NC 750S and X-ADV, as well as the Integra.

I know in Asia there is a released 350cc but between the 300 and 350 there is not much difference in power personally I would like a 400cc or near 500cc scooter with enough grunt to overtake at 50-60 mph the 300 struggles with 27hp… 20 pounds of torque. with the same or slightly bigger storage of the 300cc forza.
