We’ve been busy in the lab developing new products for the SLUK Shop recently. The latest products in our Lab are for the Vespa GTS and Lambretta GP but more will follow.

Darth Blader screen

Like many GTS riders, I’ve always used a Piaggio Sports Screen on my GTS but wanted something a bit different. Our new SLUK ‘Darth Blader’ is a quick way to get a new look for your scooter. The name is quite self explanatory if you look at the photos below.

As we developed the screen it looked a bit too plain so we added some raised detailing, using the horncast louvres as inspiration. By complete coincidence, as soon as our man made one in black it reminded us of a certain fictional character from the movies. It’s also available in stormtrooper white, silver, and carbon effect.

With or without fittings? From £50

This screen comes with or without fittings. If you already have an existing Piaggio Sports Screen just take the screen off, use your old fittings and replace your old screen blade with the Darth Blader.

Darth Blader no fittings

If you haven’t already got a Sports Screen you can buy the complete screen and Piaggio fitting kit instead:

SLUK Guard: Colours £21, carbon effect £24

We launched the GTS SLUK Guard a couple of weeks ago and it’s become our best selling item so far. It’s basically a quick and easy way to extend the front mudguard to stop stones and gravel hitting and chipping your frame. It is also designed to deflect rain and spray away from the metal body. Once fitted it looks like a factory fitted component. It’s certainly a better option than the usual over-sized mudflap, or Lambretta rear bumper people tend to fit to keep GTS corrosion at bay.

Easily trimmed

A couple of owners have told us that the SLUK Guard can rub against the tyre slightly on the bottom lip during braking. If it does happen on yours simply trimming the bottom edge using a Dremel or hacksaw will give extra clearance. It’s not happening on my 2015 GTS with 13” Yourban wheels fitted (although one owner who got in touch also has 13” wheels) so maybe it depends on tyre size/suspension and rider weight.

Either way it’s a quick fix if you do have a problem but we will be altering the design slightly to give the SLUK Guard a bit of extra clearance.

The SLUK Guard comes complete with double-sided 3M tape to fix it to your mudguard, it also comes with four stainless self-tapping screws and a drill bit. Some owners have opted to rivet theirs on, or use bolts and nyloc nuts instead of the self tappers.

Banana Arma: Carbon effect £14.50

Another small detailing touch for 2014-2016 GTS owners. It’s our Banana Arma, a simple enough product that nobody else is making for that model of GTS (with the revised front suspension). This just locates over your existing chrome suspension cover and fixes in place using the supplied 3M tape. It’s only available in carbon effect but if you wanted one making in gloss black, silver or white we can do them on request.

Lambretta GP

Our original GP Coast 2 Coast screen has done its job as a lightweight, quick-fix screen for those longer rides but it was ready for an update. The new GP screen will follow a similar style to the SX screen and should be available in December (in plenty of time for Christmas). We’re just finalising fittings but here’s a sneak preview of how it’s going to look.

Lambretta Series 2/early PX

We also have a retro 60s screen in development for the Series 2; this will be a modern reproduction of a classic screen. Hopefully available before the end of the year.

Series 3 Li owners have also been in touch so we’ll be adding that model to the R&D list, as well as early Vespa PX screens. Later PX screens are available now.
