I’m sure most Vespa GTS fans and owners will have seen the recent ‘spy shots’ and images from. It seems like Piaggio decided to put the new 2023 flagship model out before officially releasing the news to the press or public.
Well today they’ve officially announced it and allowed us a couple of studio images and some basic details.
Firstly, the GTS will still come in two capacities using the same 125cc i-Get and 300 HPE engines as in the previous models. There will be four variants, GTS, Super, SuperSport and SuperTech.
Styling wise there are a few obvious differences, brand new wheels, different mirrors, restyled back end with standalone number plate light and longer rear mudguard. There’s also chrome switchgear and keyless ignition. The SuperTech retains the TFT colour instruments but the other three models get a brand new set of instruments.
Over the four models there are fourteen different colour combinations which will no doubt give Piaggio dealers nightmares when it comes to stocking them in their overcrowded showrooms!
According to the press release the seat has also been redesigned to be more comfortable and have optimised ergonomics “For easy footing on ther ground at a standstill.” Hopefully that will help to make the GTS more accessible.
UK pricing, more details and colours will follow as soon as we get it…
