Barnsley based scooter dealer, Ron Daley (pictured above) celebrates 60 years in business this month. The well-known Piaggio dealer opened in 1958 and like it’s sprightly owner the business is still thriving. The friendly family run shop is well known for creating dealer specials, including new Vespa PX200s, one of which we tested recently here.
Although the shop was started back in the black & white days, they’ve moved with the times and are keeping the Piaggio flag flying in South Yorkshire. They also stock Scomadi, Royal Alloy, Lambretta and Peugeot scooters. Recently their brand new website went live. If you’re looking for a brand new scooter, a special edition Vespa or even fancy a new PX 200 or T5 give them a shout and tell them we sent you. If you visit this month you might even get some leftover Birthday cake.
New products always in development…
Hi and best wishes from Germany, I’ve read with great interest Your feature about the “new” PX 200.
I’m actually rebuilding a PX 200 to standard spec ( all those Polossis are fun when it comes to top speed etc., but on the -literally- long run nothing’s better as the ones Corradino had invented it… So at least my humble opinion ).
I don’t know if my question touches Daley’s Scooters secrets – if so, I apologize – if not, I would be highly interested in following:
As far as I understand Daley’s Scooters use the standard piston/cylinder:
Which crankshaft do they use?
Which exhaust do they use? Have they changed the ignition timing?
Which carb with which setting do the use?
Answers would be highly appreciated. As a private person I can only learn by the experience of Daley’s Scooters.
Thanks in advance but also full understanding if these facts are their secrets.
Kind regards
Michael
