German custom scooters are a breed of their own and this year’s 11th annual Scooter Center Custom Show is the place to see the cream of the crop all under one roof. Over 2,000 visitors are expected at this year’s show which takes place on May 5th at the Abenteuerhallen Köln Kalk in Cologne. Located just five minutes drive from the Central Railway Station.
Over 100 entrants are expected at the show, with varieties from all facets of the classic and modern custom scene being represented, from full custom to extreme engineering and everything in between. Like the UK, the Germans have also seen a rise in the number of original patina style scooters so expect to see some nicely presented rustorations if you’re lucky enough to get over there.
Casa SSR demo rides
Aside from the impressive show, there will also be a large parts fair and Casa Performance will be bringing along their SSR 265 demonstrator for test rides.
Getting there
The city of Cologne is beautiful and easy enough to get to from the UK, with budget flights into Cologne/Bonn (CNG), Dusseldorf (DUS), Dusseldorf/Weeze (NRN) and Maastricht (MAA) airports (the last two are an hour’s drive from Cologne).
Driving there is also fairly easy from Calais, or a two-hour drive from Rotterdam if you plan to take the ferry.
