Why: Traditional German scooter gathering
This is one of the older events for German scooterists, with its roots leading back to the late 1980s when the rally was held in the Aachen area. Worth mentioning is also the consistency in which it took place over the years; albeit the organisers Filthy & Sly SC (a fusion of what originally was the Filthy Extension SC and the Sly Vultures SC) decided some years back to take turns with the Hidden Power SC rally near Hagen and put it on every other year now. They also re-located from the German-Belgian-Dutch borderland inland to Dreisbach in the Westerwald region – so much for a bit of German scooter history and geography.
Despite the weather being too cold and wet for the time of year the atmosphere was relaxed as usual and perfect for old friends to meet and catch up. Naturally, the programme was traditional; all-niters on the Friday and Saturday as well as a custom show and fun games during the day. Unfortunately, we had reports of sudden collective blindness when some of the male bar staff decided to serve refreshments bare arsed. Whether these casualties were caused as a direct result of prudishness or the shock of what gravity does to the human physique we do not know. What we do know, however, is that once again everybody thoroughly enjoyed themsleves and had a great time.
