Something slightly different on two wheels but raising money for a very worthwhile charity, it’s the ‘Scooter Riders 25-mile Charity Cycle’. Last year the riders raised over £3000 for cancer is a c*unt (with proceeds going to Cancer Research) and the riders had a great time doing it, so it’s back by popular demand on September 18th.
You don’t need a chopper to get involved…
This event is open to clubs and solo riders (as well as friends and family) of all ages and ability. It starts at the old Great Torrington Train Station (EX38 8JD) to Fremington Quay Café (near Barnstaple) and back and covers approximately 25 miles along the Tarka Trail, using the old North Devon railway line and passing through the largely unspoilt countryside. The trail is mainly flat making it ideal for most types of bikes from road to mountain bikes.

Cycle hire/free bike safety check
Cycle hire is available at: Torrington Cycle Hire and parking is available at the starting point. The event starts at 10.30am, signing on will be open from 9.00am but please give yourselves enough time to sign on and prepare for the ride. Wolf Cycleworx in Exeter are offering all riders free bike safety checks and 10% off servicing and everything in store.
