Spanish e-scooter brand, Silence has arrived in Great Britain. The scooters are designed, engineered and manufactured in Barcelona, which makes a refreshing change. The range consists of four all-electric models starting at just £2695 for a 50cc equivalent.
Electric scooters sales have gone up 50% in the last year and will no doubt rise further this year as more and more commuters search for alternative ways to travel.
Cheap to run
A scooter will usually make an excellent choice for most average distance commutes. An electric one can make that option cheaper and greener as well. With running costs of around £0.01 per mile and no ULEZ/congestion charging to worry about, switching to a silent mode of transport can be attractive to modern Millenials both ecologically and financially.

- S01 – The Commuter – £4995: Flagship model, 125cc equivalent with a range of 80 miles, 0-30mph in 3.9 seconds, 5.6kWh battery and 7kW (9kw peak power) motor.
- S02/S02 LS Long Range – The Professionals – £3695-£4695: Business focussed, this model is perfect for couriers/fast food delivery etc. Range of 91 miles on LS (restricted to 30mph), or higher-powered S02 with 56mph and 80-mile range.
- S02 LS – The Starter – £2695: Moped version, ideal for youngsters or those who never need to go faster than 30mph, comes with a 2kWh battery capable of 35 miles on a charge.
Silence are backed by a full two-year warranty and come with two years AA roadside assistance cover.
Connected?
A dedicated Silence app allows tracking, mapping and a whole host of features. It links to the large LCD instrument panel.
Battery trolley
Powered by a unique patented lithium-ion battery with a simple ‘click & go’ release and innovative trolley system the battery can be easily removed and charged at home or work from a conventional 3-pin socket.
