Silence UK had the official opening of their new store yesterday and things have got off to a flying start for the all-electric scooter company.
Regeneration
Silence UK have refurbished a 700 square metre retail site on Haslucks Green Road, Solihull. The area is planning to pioneer a new Clean Air Zone later this year so they’re in a prime spot to take advantage of the booming electric vehicle market. Sales of electric scooters are up almost 300% on last year and in April they were up 550% (although Covid obviously had an effect on sales in 2020.
Why go electric?
John Edwards, one of the founders of Silence UK, explained: “Whether you’re concerned by Low Emission Zone charges hitting your delivery business, looking to make a green step in your travel choice, or just want a neat alternative to crowded public transport after Covid-19, then going electric is for you.
“So far, our customers have told us they love the simplicity, clean convenience and performance of all-electric riding. We’re bringing something new and needed to the market. It’s the right idea, at the right time.”

Solihull may be the first Silence UK store but the company plan to open several flagship retail units around the country, London and Manchester are already planned. They also aim to run partnerships with entrepreneurial businesses who are keen to get a foot on the electric vehicle ladder. The company also sells digitally, with delivery across the UK.
