This is THE easiest method to accurately mix oil. Even Loz can do it.

I hate oil mixing jugs with a passion

Stinky, dirty, oil-dripping plastic jugs that take time to use and leave your hands, gloves and toolbox filthy. There must be a better way of mixing oil with petrol in any pre-mix scooter

Well, thanks to SIP, there is now an easy way to accurately measure oil into your petrol without the need for any oil jug nonsense.

Now you can both carry and measure your oil in one spill-free device; SIP Squeeze.

How does it work?

The clever thing about this 0.5 litre oil bottle is that it contains a squeeze-type valve so you can tip it over your tank without spilling a drop and use the inverted measuring scale.

  1. Fill your tank with ‘X’ litres of fuel
  2. Twist the lid to release the safety lock which prevents accidental squeezing.
  3. Tip the bottle over your tank
  4. Find the scale relating to your engine (2%, 3% and 4% printed on the bottle)
  5. Squeeze in ‘X’ units of oil from the relevant scale
  6. Lock the lid and put the bottle back in your toolbox

At no point in this process do you need to get any oil over your hands, and as you can see from the video, it’s also MUCH cleaner and more accurate than trying to pour from a measuring jug when it is windy.

SIP Squeeze has a wide neck making it very easy to re-fill with your chosen brand of 2-stroke oil without spilling.

What does it fit?

The half-litre SIP Squeeze is small enough to fit in most Vespa and Lambretta toolboxes, even those of Vespa smallframes.

What does it cost?

SIP Squeeze retails for £11, and currently UK customers can order post-free direct from SIP. Find it here; SIP Squeeze.

Any problems?

None, apart from the possibility that someone may mistake this for a cycle drinking bottle. It would be very dangerous to drink 2-stroke oil so please keep out of reach of children. The bottle is also marked in braile.

Verdict

An essential 21st century solution to a 20th century problem. This is a tried-and-trusted oil-mixing method that SLUK have used for a while and a project that we helped SIP to develop.

Would I ever go back to the mixing jug?

Given the choice, not a chance.
