It’s good to see scooter businesses starting to get back to some kind of normality after a few months of turmoil. These exclusive photos come directly from the Royal Alloy assembly line in China. They show the eagerly anticipated RA Tigara Grande in production. Good news if you’ve ordered one because the scooters will be on the water and heading to a dealer near you very soon.
Tigare Grande
The metal-bodied Lambretta Series 2 style TG – ‘Tigara Grande’ will arrive in 125 and 300 capacities, both boasting liquid-cooled engines. Like it’s stablemate, the GP 300 S (as tested by us here against a GTS 300 HPE), the 300 TG engine is based on the older, well-proven Piaggio GTS engine. It’s certified to Euro 4 specs and will give great performance for longer distance rally use.
Can I order one?
There are 76 300cc and 38 125cc TGs on the first batch, many of them already pre-ordered but there are still a few spares.
The scooters will leave China by sea on Sunday and are likely to hit UK shores in early August, two months behind schedule. Not bad considering the world has been turned upside down this year and the factory was closed for a month. A spokesman for Royal Alloy explained the delay “The supply chain has been problematic, with many suppliers changing to produce PPE for the world.”
