SLUK & ScooterNova Magazine are getting together to bring you a brand-new scooter event in summer 2019. ScooterExpo will be a huge showcase for some of the finest scooters ever built. It will also be a place for many of the most well-respected traders to ply their wares and for a few characters and legends from the scooter scene to tell their tales.
As well as live chats, we’ll also have artisan craftsmen giving live demos on their various skills, from airbrushing and pinstriping, to custom seat making. It’ll be an interactive show. The hand-picked exhibits inside the two rooms will be the cream of the crop.

30-year anniversary
The date is Sunday, July 28th, it’s a one-day event at Alfreton Leisure Centre, home of the original NSRA Trade & Custom shows 30 years ago. As part of that celebration, we’ll be inviting some of the scooters that were on display at Alfreton back in the day.
I’m sure many custom owners are tired of the same old routine, we certainly are. We want this show to be different, your scooters won’t be judged in the usual kind of way and there won’t be dozens of trophies for various classes in the usual kind of ‘custom show’ way.
Alfreton 30 years ago, the same venue – were you one of the original exhibitors?
The 75
We’re inviting potential entrants to send in their details and a photo of their scooter (or project/ideas if it’s not yet finished) we’ll be choosing the entrants to give the best variety of machines. 75 of the finest scooters will fill the two halls and be set out more spaciously than most custom shows so the public can see them in all their glory. Each entrant will receive a ScooterExpo ‘75’ commemorative limited-edition souvenir.
Trade show
Similarly, traders will be invited to attend. We want the brands and businesses that support road-going scooterists to showcase their latest goodies, the finest engineering, the tastiest products and for you to be able to buy the spares and parts you need to keep your scooter on the road. Nobody ever got home on a pork pie hat.

How to enter
If you’d like your scooter to be considered for the 75 you can find a preliminary entry form on our ScooterExpo website.
We’ll notify successful entrants by May 31st. If you have an as yet unseen, or unfinished project let us have the details, similarly if you have something unusual, rare or of special interest we also want to know about it.
