Chuck has had his scooter delivered back to him this morning as a result of the actions of fellow club members. Chuck was obviously overjoyed at the return of a scooter he bought new in 1960 and has ridden all over Europe.
After a tip-off received from people who were offered the parts for sale, the scooter was dumped disassembled near some flats in South London and a note with its whereabouts delivered through a door of an London Lambretta Club member at 2am this morning. Club members went to retrieve it straight away.
We\’ve spoken to the folks from LLC and the matter is in the hands of the police hence the absence of any further info with regards to the thieve(s) at the moment.
With regards to the kind gestures of money and parts to help rebuild the scooter, we\’ll pass them on.
Let\’s just call this a victory for all the scooterists who shared the story and made the scooter such hot property that it was felt the only course of action was for it to be returned. Good work scooter community!

Clearly social media can be a force for good but the exposure may also create further risk so come on SLUK and Sticky, use your contacts/influence to organise some additional security for the future!

Maybe this is an opportunity to restore Chuck’s scooter back to it’s ‘ as new ‘ condition ( if that’s what he would like of course ). I’m sure that all the Clubs, Dealers, Suppliers and private individuals around the country would be pleased to make donations of their time, services and cash ?. Can somebody ask him and let’s get the ball rolling ?.
