Vespa GTS/Sprint – Racing Sixties
Last year we saw the new Vespa GTS HPE for the first time at EICMA so we weren’t likely to get anything more than a special edition this year. Racing Sixties is the name and it is available across both the Vespa Sprint and GTS models.
So what do you get?
Basically you’re getting new graphics (yellow on the green paintwork and red on the white). You’ll also get a brand new seat, in soft velvety nubuck – coated in PVC to keep the rain out and with “Artisan-style stitching’ said to be a nod to the 1960s racing past. The special edition also has gold wheels, and plenty of matt black detailing. The matt black includes the front and rear light surrounds, exhaust cover, instrument cluster, grab rail, footpegs and legshield trim.
Vespa Eletricca 70kmh
At last year’s EICMA we had a quick razz around the block on the new Vespa Eletricca. This year the Italians have upped things by building a 70kmh version (the original can only do 45kmh). The 70kmh version retains the same battery and running gear, although optimised to improve efficiency. The final drive ratio has also been altered to give a higher top sped. The motor can deliver 3.6kW of continuous power and a maximum of 4kW (with 200 nM of torque) whilst still delivering a very similar range to the moped version – 100km in ECO mode and 70km in POWER mode.
The Eletricca comes in three colours, Azzurro Eletricco, Cromo and Nero Profundo, whilst the colour-coded wheel rim edges, horncast, legshield trim, central floorboards and nameplate come in a choice of six colours.
Vespa Primavera Sean Wotherspoon
No you heathens, this isn’t a collaboration with a large chain of cheap British pubs, this is a colourful special edition Primavera designed by up and coming US youth guru and lover of street art – artist Sean Wotherspoon. Yellow, red, dark green and aquamarine burst through the paintwork in a kaleidoscope of colour. Aside from the scooter, Sean has also turned his attention to a special helmet, t-shirts and even a tracksuit!
Piaggio Beverly 300 and 350
A new Beverly 350 Tourer hs been introduced to sit alongside the Beverly and Beverly S. The Tourer comes complete with a smoked screen and 36-litre top box in matching colour to the scooter, with a passenger pad in the same leather as the seat. Of course it also comes with that lively 330cc 21bhp engine. It’s available in the classic pastel white (Bianco Pearlo) and new colour, Nere Meteroa – matt black, as well as Grigio Materia (grey).
The 300 and 350 S come in Blu Nettuno (Neptune blue), Verde Laguna (lagoon green) and Argento Cometa (comet silver). Detailing also sets the models apart – black bar ends, black seat with red and grey stitching, plus dark grey plastics.
