Honda celebrates 70 years and 400 million units | NEWS

 

Honda are busy celebrating their 70th anniversary of motorcycle/scooter production today, having produced 400 million units since they were founded in Japan in 1948. With 35 production facilities around the world – in 25 different countries, the company has come a long way since their first European factory was established in Belgium in 1963.

 

The Japanese company currently produce many motorcycles and scooters, including the recently relaunched Cub (pictured above) and the Forza, amongst many other household names. Production reached 100 million units in 1997, 300 million in 2014 and today they hit 400 million. 

 

Honda’s Chief Executive Officer, Takahiro Hachigo said “For 70 years Honda has provided to customers worldwide motorcycles that make life easier and enjoyable. As a result, we have achieved our 400 million-unit milestone. I am grateful to all of our customers, and everyone involved in development, manufacturing, sales and service of our products. We will continue to do our best to provide attractive products that meet the needs and dreams of customers worldwide.”
