Here’s a tasty new star for the top of your Christmas Tree!
The 036WH wheel hub solves the issue of having a wider front rim and tyre on any traditional Vespa fitted with a Piaggio Zip or Vespa ET4 fork.
These fork conversions are popular because they offer an easy and affordable disc brake conversion but the standard wheels are 2.50-inches wide whereas a normal Vespa rear rim is 2.10 inches wide.
This is the opposite of the layout of any modern motorcycle which always has a fatter tyre on the rear than the front to aid turn-in.
Christiaan Foppen’s solution has been to make his billet CNC rim adaptor which allows you to fit any type (tubed or tubeless, single piece or split-rim) of 10” Vespa wheel to the Zip/ET4 fork.
With this adaptor you can fit a narrow 2.10 rim to these forks for the first time, which should aid handling.
PLC Corse also tell us that this wheel hub should also be adaptable to right-side fork legs like PX and PK if combined with the correct centre-hub adaptor.
At the moment the 036WH is expected to arrive around Christmas 2018. The RRP is €274 and it is offered in either Gold Black or Silver.
It is currently offered for pre-order only via the PLC Corse website, but once it is on sale it should be available at all PLC Corse outlets such as Scooter Center, Duepercento, LTH, SIP and 10polici.
