Big whoop! I’d be more impressed if they’d pay more attention to rust proofing the GTS and modern Vespas in general. Poor QC….but that’s what they want, a scoot that rots out on you in 5-10 years so you buy another one. Sorry Piaggio, fed up with your BS. My money is going with the Scomadi 450 in the future, after my poorly finished GTS dissolves into iron oxide. Bah humbug!
I agree with the previous comment. Piaggio should definitely fit a front mudflap as standard to stop the water from the front wheel running along underneath the chassis and rotting the battery tray. Also why don’t they ever offer a sports exhaust upgrade from new, rather than the standard pancake which detracts from the sporty looks. However I’m sure this will sell in large enough numbers.
Thank SLUK for the fender extender for the GTS! A brilliant bit of kit.
However, on my GTS the front seam is only spot welded in the odd place it seems, leaving voids between the folded sheet metal so that the ACF 50 I squirt on the inside of the legshields to displace moisture and prevent rust, actually seeps through the seam and drips down the outside leaving rusty brown streaks after a run. Poor! Never seen this on any other vehicle except old Dagenham Donkeys whose rusting carcasses left outside in the elements were just sprayed over and knocked out to the poor unsuspecting punters.
Why spend £5K on a so called premium product that has a less than premium finish and longevity.?
