If you\’re running a tuned PX engine it\’s nice to be able to have the option to run a standard style SI carb in the original carb box. It keeps things looking more original under the panels and also means the carb is enclosed (to avoid spraying fuel and oil everywhere). Running a re-jetted standard carb is one option but this new 28mm SI carb from Pinasco is a direct replacement for the standard carb and a much better bet for optimising performance.
The VRX-R 28 carburettor costs around £237 and is suitable for all Vespa PX models, although doesn\’t run the autolube. It also benefits from a Venturi inlet for increased air flow, designed to optimise performance at low RPM. The Venturi is available as a separate part, Pinasco part number 25530451 and Pinasco also recommend their Airbox to increase the volume of air by a further 20%.
