During the first weekend of September, Scooter Center Cologne will be celebrating their 30th anniversary in true German style with a humungous ‘Scooterist Weekender’ and they’ve asked us to invite as many SLUK readers as possible to attend.
The weekender runs on Friday and Saturday 2nd-3rd of September at two cool venues in the vibrant German city of Cologne.
The main event – Motorworld
Saturday will play host to a fantastic day at Motorworld where a plethora of well-known and respected dealers will be showcasing their scooter porn within the confines of this cool 2,300 sqm location. There’s a full list of dealers and exhibitors listed here, it keeps growing though so be sure to check back for the latest additions.
Custom show
Of course, it wouldn’t be a German scooter event without a mega custom show and you can be sure that the entry list for this particular show will be very prestigious indeed. You can see some of the entrants here and it’s not too late to get yours into the show as well.

Entries are already pouring in but Scooter Center would like to hear from you if you’ve got something nice to show off. You can register your scooter here and they’d be more than happy to have some British machines on display.
Scooter parts
Aside from loads of top-flight German customs and the dealers showing off their goodies, the show will also feature used parts so if you love delving through rusty treasure it’ll be worth getting in early when the show opens at 12. If you’re looking to sell your own spares you can register here.
Where is it and how do I get there?
Motorworld Köln is located in the Rheinland area of Cologne. The address is: Butzweilerstraße 35-39, 50829 Köln. It’s also on the public transport network so getting there is easy enough if you’ve flown in and have no other transport.

.Flying in?
Cologne’s airport is CGN and cheap direct flights are available from the likes of EasyJet, Tui and Ryanair. From the airport you can catch a train direct to Cologne’s main station and get to the custom show venue in just 20 minutes on the tube.
Frankfurt airport is also only 50 minutes away and there are 70 trains heading to Cologne every day.

From Calais Cologne is just 260 miles by road.
Where to stay?
Scooter Center are advising people to look for accommodation in Ehrenfeld, it’s a hip and lively area with brightly coloured buildings, slow food restaurants, original cafes, kebab shops and independent boutiques. You can find a hotel list here but there are plenty more on Booking.com.
All-nighters
Of course, scooterists also like to have a party and Scooter Center are laying on all-nighters on both Friday and Saturday nights from 10 pm. The late start gives you a chance to sample some of the local bars before getting your dancing shoes on.
Their Soul Club DJs will be playing in two rooms at Trafic.

Tickets?
You can purchase advance tickets from here, they cost €10 for the custom show (you will also be able to pay on the door), or it’s €25 for a weekend ticket – that gets you into both nighttime events and the custom show.
