SLUK readers are an eclectic bunch, they come in all shapes and sizes and from every corner of the world (I’m not sure if a globe actually has corners?). Take this picture sent in by Rod Barretta from Australia. Rod is currently building a KTM 390 powered Lambretta hybrid, whilst wearing a Spanish hat after being inspired by this SLUK feature scooter. I’m not sure we can give you a T-shirt for that Rod but we’d like to see the scooter once it’s finished.
What we can give a t-shirt for though are the latest scooterist bodges and tips. Each one we publish will get the bodger a free SLUK T-shirt. If you’ve got a bodge/tip to share send them to editorial@ScooterLab.UK with a photo or two, please.
We’ve also got an offer for SLUK readers from Oiltek…
Tent tip – or from the tip?
Hi SLUK team, I thought you might like this tip. Old tent carry bags are ideal for transporting any gear to a rally and keeping it dry, it also looks better than the old black plastic bin liner often used. When you’ve unpacked, the tent bag can then be used overnight to place on your scooter seat, keeping it dry from rain or morning condensation. Just place it over the seat upside down with the zip towards the front, then do the zip up as far as it will go to keep it secure. Even if you are lucky enough to miss the rain on your long ride home, having a soggy seat from the day before is not pleasant.
What with people throwing their tents away at rallies and festivals after one use, it’s easy to pick a few up when you take your rubbish to the bins before going home.

Oiltek tool offer
After reading our last bodge Paul at Oiltek reminded us about his very handy toolbox sized, lightweight, universal Lambretta flywheel holding tool. His tool costs just £15 and works with all types of Lambretta flywheel including Variotronic.
SLUK readers can get FREE postage if they mention us when ordering one here.
Got a tip/bodge or tool we should know about?
Feel free to send your tips and bodges in (preferably with a photo or video to prove it happened). We’re looking for roadside fixes to get you home, workshop tips, tools and other useful info that could get a scooter rider out of a sticky spot.
You can email them in to: Editorial@ScooterLab.UK
Disclaimer: The tools, tips, bodges and downright tomfoolery in this bodgery series is by no means the ‘proper’ way to do stuff. Any accidents, mishaps or damage caused by replicating them is your own stupid fault.
