Most of us have a toolbox at home, but what do you carry your tools in when you’re out and about on your scooter? Here’s one possible option.
Over the years I’ve used various things from bank coin bags to ‘Lambretta’ tool rolls, as well as simply throwing tools into my toolbox and quickly slamming closed the door before they can spew back out again!
The Shad SBT2 Tool Bag here though offers a more secure alternative option. It measures approximately 31x15x8cm and with a manufacturer’s recommended payload of 3.4kg, the SBT2 unfolds to offer all kinds of storage opportunity for a variety of tools you may choose to carry securely.
These include zipped net pockets and elasticated restraints, then when packed it rolls back up, zips closed and has a convenient carrying handle too.
For Lambretta owners it is a little too big for a normal Series 1, 2 or 3 Lambretta underseat toolbox, but it will stow inside my Model D box.
It will also fit into a Vespa legshield toolbox, both earlier small-door Rally types and later PX ones.
This means that if you’ve an aftermarket legshield box in your Lambretta that should also accommodate this bag.
For more modern scooter owners this will fit easily under the seat of most scooters from the 1990s onwards.
The SBT2 also has straps on the back so if Lambretta owners don’t have an aftermarket toolbox, or for those with earlier Vespas, the bag could be secured to a spare wheel mounted inside the legshields maybe. sorted!
