Launched late last night with TMAX rider, Valentino Rossi in attendance Flagship super-scooter the Yamaha T-Max gets three new versions for 2017, TMAX, TMAX SX and TMAX DX.
With the DX being the all-singing, all-dancing top of the range version complete with heated seat & grips, electrically adjustable screen and cruise control.
Bike tracker
It also features ‘My TMAX Connect’, both the SX and DX have integrated GPS and a mobile app to connect your scooter to your phone. This not only gives access to data about your bike but also, more importantly includes a bike tracker, as well as a remote horn and flasher function, speed alert, geofence and trip report. This combines with the ‘Smart key’ keyless ignition and centre stand lock. With crime such as scooter-jacking becoming more common it means a thief can’t steal the scooter and key together quite as easily. It also means you can lock or release the centre stand using the key, making it harder for somebody to simply push the scooter away.
D-Mode
Both the SX and DX versions have My TMAX Connect and D-Mode switchable mapping, T-Mode for Town and S-Mode for Sport.
Dainese D-Air® safety system
All the variants come Dainese D-Air® safety system enabled, meaning you can use a Dainese D-Air® Street jacket (or suit) which inflates if an impact is detected.
Traction Control System (TCS)
All three models come with traction control, which can be turned off if the rider prefers.
10kg weight saving
An all-new lightweight aluminium chassis and lighter wheels add up to a 10kg weight saving overall, this is coupled to a 40mm longer swinging arm making the TMAX handling even better than it already was.
Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T)
The existing 530cc inline twin cylinder engine now comes with an advanced Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) compete with 32-bit ECU to constantly monitor and adjust the air intake for a smoother response and optimum performance.
