Whoa, that came around quickly. Yes folks, it\’s the August Bank Holiday already, a turning point in the scootering calendar. A time when we know summer is officially on its way out (how quickly is it getting dark already?) and we\’ll soon be swapping our summer waterproofs for winter waterproofs!

Luckily the weather Gods have predicted plenty of sunshine for the Isle of Wight and the only wet stuff will be the thousands of pints supped by thirsty scooterists over the long weekend.

This weekend sees the annual, long-established Isle of Wight scooter rally taking place. It\’s number 6 of 8 on the BSRA calendar and has been set in stone since the last century. As usual, a band of hard-working road-going Scooterists from VFM will be putting on the official campsite, manning the gate and providing a full programme of events up at Smallbrook Stadium (full details on the flyer) but could it be for the last time?

Rumours abound that the August Bank Holiday rally to the Isle of Wight will be no more after this year. Planned building work around the campsite and a natural time for change could see us somewhere new (or revisited) for 2020.

If the rally was to move where would you like to spend the August Bank Holiday instead? Let us know your dream town in the comments below.

Party like it\’s 1999

If you\’re heading down to the Wight island this weekend have a fantastic time, party like it\’s 1999 (in fact, if my memory serves me correctly I\’m pretty sure Secret Affair were headlining at Smallbrook in 1999 as well).

We\’ll have a full report and loads of photos for you next week…
