Pet On Wheels was launched last year at Milan, but had a bigger stall at the 2016 event. Stopping by for a chat, apparently the founders are all dedicated scooter riders who also love their dogs and so came up with what they consider a solution that enables them to take ‘mans’ best friend’ with them on the road.

Apparently compliant to Italian law, the hard POW case comes with a universal mounting plate to fix to almost any scooter, motorcycle, or bike and the package also includes a safety leash and a pillow for your pet. If it rains the porthole may be closed (there are vents in the side so Fido can still breathe) and POW is designed, engineered, and manufactured in Italy.

We’re not convinced that it’s the best place for a dog to be if your scooter was to get rear-ended by a car driver concentrating more on their phone than the road. That said, a large dog shoe-horned into the boot of a car is equally vulnerable if the worst were to happen.
Hmmm…. maybe it’s best to leave your pet at home or stick to taking them for local walkies… What do you think?

During an IoW rideout few years back we were going past the aerodrome when a guy on a Harley Fatboy burned past with his dog sitting between his legs, front paws on tank, sporting doggles and doggie bash hat with ear holes absolutely loving it! Waaaay cool hound! Reincarnated petrolhead obviously.
