For 13 years petrol heads have gathered in the South West to enjoy Mediterranean automotive culture at the Bristol Italian Auto Moto Festival.

The city centre’s Corn Street was bursting with thousands of people as well as vintage and modern classics on two and four wheels. In glorious sunshine two Italian icons celebrated their 70th birthdays; the creations of certain Messrs. Ferdinado Inncocenti and and Enzo Ferrari.

All other renowned marques were represented too, from Ducati’s, Laverdas, Moto Guzzis, AV Agustas to four wheeled exhibits like Fiats, Lancias, Lamborghini s and even rarer brands. The scooters on show were mainly displayed by the usual suspects from the Bristol Lambretta Club and the Bristol Mods SC, but also by solo riders with some beautifully restored and original machines.

The addition of odd concoctions, like Denbigh’s skelly GP sidecar outfit, made for an interesting mix of styles. Also it was nice to see Alex and Derek from Fowler’s of Bristol using the opportunity to present a small range of the latest Vespa models and some accessories.

Again, another fun day well worth a visit. So if you have nothing planned for next year’s event in April take a ride down and join the lads and ladies.
