Who: Scooter Collective South Wales
What: National Scooter Rally
Where: Tenby, Wales
When: 29th April – 02nd May
The second National Rally of 2016 saw a visit to the lovely Welsh seaside town of Tenby. After a glorious ride along the A40 in the sunshine, we pitched the tents (mad for camping in April) on a somewhat busy campsite near the North Beach. On Friday night the local pubs were roaring, not a quiet bar in sight and so was the main do in the De Valence. The live sets by ska bands the Evil Turkeys and Rude Soles went down a treat.
With the sun out, Saturday saw another busy day around town with the custom show and parts fair being busy throughout the afternoon. The Riff, who played a mix of classic scooterist’s tunes, and Skacasm were gigging at the De Valence. They went down an absolute storm; in fact so much so that admission could only be managed by a one-in-one-out policy. Flicking between both, the main and the soul room was great and both were packed until the end.
Heading home in the rain on Sunday wasn’t too bad as another great weekend in South Wales certainly made up for it.
