A couple of months ago we sneaked a very useful new feature on to ScooterLab. We didn\’t want to shout about \’The Directory\’ straight away, just in case you swamped it and caused us problems behind the scenes. So a soft launch was implemented and since then a fair few forward-thinking scooter clubs, dealers and rally/event/gig/ride-out organisers have started to add to the listings. What\’s on \’The Directory\’?
As a punter it\’s, (or at least it will become) your first port of call if you\’re looking for somewhere to go at the weekend, you can also use it to find a scooter dealer, either in your area, where you\’ve broken down or maybe in a far-away town whilst you\’re away travelling. You can also search for dealers by type, make or services offered. If you want a dealer that can service a Kymco in Manchester, or restore a Lambretta in Nottingham? The Directory is where to look and where your business or event needs to be.
Google mapping
Bored on a Saturday afternoon and you\’re looking for somewhere to go that night? You don\’t want to travel too far so type in your postcode and how far you\’re prepared to travel for a night-time do, gig or event. Our interactive map will even give you directions as you travel. It\’s also the perfect way to direct you to an event or rally campsite when you get lost heading in to town.
Scooter club
Maybe you\’re looking for friends and aren\’t in a club, our club listings will help you to find a local scooter club. We can\’t guarantee they\’ll become your best friends, or let you into the club but if you\’re into scooters and fancy riding with like-minded people it\’s worth becoming friendly with people from the local scooter scene and most clubs are welcoming and friendly.
How do I make a listing?
The video above shows how to navigate the menus and create a new listing but if you\’re capable of typing into boxes and attaching a photo there\’s a good chance you won\’t find this too hard. If you\’re a complete technophobe you can always get in touch with us though and we\’ll help you.
How much does it cost?
Clubs and events
Our listings start at a basic level for FREE (all scooter club listings are free). If you\’re putting on an event or you\’re a scooter business/dealer/trader you would benefit from a paid listing (although you can still get a free basic listing if you prefer). The paid listings give more features. For just £19 you can include an event with a flyer and an extra image, or for £39 you can include 10 images (previous events etc.) and two videos. Plus you get a half price banner advert to feature on the rest of the website, as Mersea Island have done (see image below).
