Summer is just around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about what you’ll be wearing on those two hot days we’re hoping to get. Weise have just release two new pairs of summer gloves, named after Roman twins, Romulus and Remus. Both pairs, like their namesakes are tough, having passed the stringent EN13594:2014 “Protective gloves for motorcycle riders” testing.
Gloves are tested for abrasion resistance, restraint – to make sure they’re not likely to come off in an accident and integrity (measuring the strength of joints and seams). Dexterity is also appraised to ensure all the controls are easy to use whilst wearing them and there’s also a durability test. Both pairs of gloves also passed the optional impact resistance test for the knuckles, as denoted by the ‘KP’ on the label.
Romulus
Romulus (Pictured above) is designed for touring, made from tough yet supple full grain leather, with carbon protection on the knuckles, thumbs and fingers. They come in black, sizes S-3XL and cost £74.99.
Remus
The Remus (pictured below) is a short glove designed for sports, naked bikes or scooters. They’re also made from full grain leather which is perforated on the back of the hand and thumb for extra cooling. They have TPU reinforcements on the knuckles, thumbs and fingers and a Velcro retaining strap. They come in the same sizes as the Romulus but cost £69.99.
