Iconic Czech scooter brand, Čezeta are currently facing insolvency and are looking for an investor/buyer for the Eastern European brand of classically styled electric scooters.
The very distinctive scooters have been around since 1957 and were resurrected in electric form a few years ago. We covered the Čezeta 506 story here back in 2016 as they got ready to launch their metal-bodied Czech-built 5kw electric model.
One million pound order book
British-born Čezeta boss, Neil Smith appears in the video above, talking to Sticky about his plans for the brand back in 2016. Neil is happy to continue working with an investor to help Čezeta continue into the future, he’s since worked on various other electric bike projects (check them out here) and sells what is said to be “One of the best value electric motorcycles on the market.” Neil is confident he can cut the cost of the electric Čezeta by around 40%. Price is one of the brand’s downfalls, Čezeta were going for a niche ’boutique’ identity and a £10,000 electric scooter certainly isn’t for everybody, although there’s apparently a potential £1 million worth of orders for the scooter, something that may well help a forward-thinking investor to sit up and take notice of the struggling firm.
